Who We Are
Formosa Film Lab is a independent professional film lab based in Faro, Algarve, southern of Portugal. that loves the art of film photography.
The click of the analog makes you curious, doubtful. The uncertainty over every click is like waiting for the next episode of your favourite TV series. It makes things more genuine, more organic. Its unveiling shouldn’t be about thousands of photos of the same thing but from different angles and distances. No time wasting. No color corrections. We want a picture of a place, a person, a moment: a reason and inspiration to shoot again.
We want to move and improve. I want to see and absorb. That’s the charm of analog: digital make better machines, analog makes better photographers.
Film photography has something that makes it special and we hope to help it’s continuation by doing a great job for all of you out there.
SERVICES
Develop, Scan and Print
We take good care of your film and our equipment. The films are processed in fresh chemicals to assure the best possible quality. The color (c-41) film is processed with our Noritsu Processors and we develop BW films with Paterson tanks and we use Ilford DDX and Kodak chemistry.
C41
Developing Color
For C41 color processing, we use Fuji chemistry. We have the Noritsu V30 machine to do the processing for color films.
BW
Developing Black & White
For black and white film we process it manually with Paterson tanks and we use Ilford DDX and Kodak chemistry.
Frontier & Noritsu
Scanning
Fujifilm Frontier SP3000 and Noritsu HS1800, are industry standard in most labs, and create great colors straight from the scanner, skin tones are especially remarkable!
We scan film in 135 and 120 formats in frames for 6x4.5, 6x6, 6x7, 6x8 and 6x9.
For printing we use the Fujifilm DX100, is a professional-grade inkjet photo printer designed for producing high-quality prints on Fujifilm paper glossy, luster, and matte.
